And today, I decided to get my studio strobe out. I have had this since last summer and have never figured out how to use it...so now I am going to learn if it is for me..

Just TOO cold.. We were notified by 6 PM tonight that the boys would not have school tomorrow. The temperature with wind chill factored in is expected to be around -20 by morning. BRRR...bitter cold.

Another day of practicing with Luke. Inside, though. And my house is very dark. I have a small sliver of light that can come in my living room is I open up both curtains, but then my windows are so high and my couch sits right under it that the dark blue of the couch literally sucks up all that light.. but I managed to get a few good ones that I will enjoy..

So he was really good for a few clicks and let me capture this..


Then he wanted to watch his Bob the Builder movie and gave me this..



So, then when the boys came home from school I got these ones outside..

I took today's first picture very early in the morning- when I should have been sleeping, as I should be now. But Baby J was sleeping on the couch and just looked so peaceful I had to photograph him. I just love his eyelashes and how his little mouth is just ready for a kiss..



And, this one was taken when the snow started coming down pretty good today..

Well, you will notice throughout this blog that little Luke is kind of left out..That's because he has MAJOR photographer Child's Syndrome. He gets so funny around that camera- and I don't mean that he makes me laugh.... So I tend to back off from shooting him..well today..He let me..and he LOOKED at me...and HE...



SMILED...

And then he did it again..



I just love him..

365 Day PhotoChallenge Day #15 and #16...

We have cold weather and SNOW..well just a little bit of snow here...but enough to go out in. I took the boys out yesterday and was practicing focus with my lens, still.

I took several pictures of the boys, but I loved the shots of their eyelashes. D's conversion is a bit dark and I will try to fix it later. I just loved both of their smiling faces.





And here's one of just D...



And for Day #16..,, We have Baby J.. The first one is my absolute fav'..Mommy goggles or whatever I just LOVE it..

365 Day PhotoChallenge Day #14...

Baby J was having so much fun playing inside Grandma and Grandpa's waffle block container, so of course that will be my picture of the day. My color is off- used my flash and an overhead light on these and it was just plain terrible..which also made the b/w's off..still cute ones of my little guy...



This second one I am so glad I got. Baby J has been walking full time since after Christmas and when he started he did the balancing act with his arms. So I love that I caught him doing the 'balancing act' again, even if it is just one arm....It's my own personal crop challenge anyway.



And, my reader. Daniel can read several books a week. He has been reading for a long time and as soon as he learned how to blend letters together he was off. Caught on fast and has not stopped. We are so proud of him...

I tried capturing his hands holding the book, but he caught on to my picture taking and I think he just wanted to enjoy his book and not worry about looking right so I gave up and let him read.

365 Day PhotoChallenge Day #13...

Today's post is on hands..and a little history. As you know, or should know by now, I am mom to 4 little boys. And my boys LOVE to play with Matchbox cars. Well, years ago, so did Daddy. Since we are spending some time up at Grandma and Grandpa's due to our water situation Daddy decided to get his cars out from his childhood. The boys LOVED playing with them. Of course Daddy did LOTS of things to his cars that his own kids aren't allowed to do. Daddy painted his cars, Daddy banged his cars together and Daddy even 'blew up' some of his cars. So his cars that he showed them tonight are very well played with and the boys really enjoyed playing with the cars their daddy once played with.

So here's Brian's hand....



And, Daddy's hands holding two trucks- he made the caps for them when he was a little boy..



Brian, is our rough/tough boy. He can go through shoes, jeans and you name it extremely fast. He ended up with a lot of hand me downs, but if things get past him we are lucky. And he loved that daddy was rough on his cars and enjoyed picking out some 'demolition derby' cars..



Well, I have to throw in a couple feet pictures, too...

365 Day PhotoChallenge Day #11...

Day #9's post told you about our house having a problem with electricity....Well, unfortunately that problem was not with our electricity but concerned our water pump. We now have NO water. Thankfully family lives right around our corner and we have been able to stay up there during the day and come back home so the boys can sleep in their own beds.

So today's post is to remind you how great water actually is..so it is about WATER...forgive the terrible cloning of the shadow on the right side of the picture...It's late and I am too tired to fix it...
